Being on God’s Team

As a youth, I often got together with other guys for a pick-up game of baseball. First thing

we would do was identify two people to pick sides. I always wanted to be on the team with the guy who I felt was the best player, so I would be on the winning side. In addition, I wanted him to be nice to me.

When thinking about God, I often picture Him as someone like that who is choosing people for His team. God is a winner. He’s strong. He’s committed to those on His team, even when we mess up. He promises to always be kind and I have found that to be true. I’m glad to be on God’s team.
