Dojo Update

Due to the Governor's 12-day extension, time we get back to it, it would be Christmas and we tend to take the week of Christmas and New year off. So, with this in mind, Dojos of the Risen Son will be closed till January 3rd and Lord Willing re open Mon January 4th. If there are no more extensions. Testing has been postponed; we'll keep you posted on the new dates when we know. Our new system Tatsu Te Ryu Karate has also been delayed and will not be starting in January. We will keep you up to date as we pick a new date to start our new system. Please continue to practice and train. Thank you all for your understanding and have a Blessed and Safe Christmas and New Year!

ABOUT

Martial arts taught from a Biblical perspective

Dojos of the Risen Son is a Christian based martial arts system, in Michigan, that teaches an eclectic style based in traditional Tae Kwon Do. Tae Kwon Do, as is literally translated from Korean to English, means "the art of kicking and punching". It is a martial art, without the use of weapons that teaches the practitioner techniques using the hands and feet for any defensive situation, regardless of age, size or gender. These techniques are taught under the Tae Kwon Do philosophy of respecting peace and justice. Tae Kwon Do teaches practitioners the attitude of self-discipline to defend oneself and never to attack or harm others. Spiritual discipline is as important as physical discipline. Therefore, Bible scripture is incorporated in the class and rankings of the school. Many of the non-Christian elements often found in the art are replaced with a Christian emphasis.

Currently, Greg has students running programs in Ohio and Michigan.

Quote

Joshua 1:6-9New International Version (NIV)

6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips;meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
